Cotlands’ strategy for 2026 focused on three goals:
- To secure and strengthen partnerships that support the set-up and operations of toy libraries to improve the quality of play-based Early Learning Programmes (ELP’s) in marginalised communities.
- To provide alternate pathways to professionalisation for ECD practitioners.
- To secure the financial sustainability of Cotlands.
An overall score of 87% was achieved across the strategic goals.
From 1 January 2026, Cotland’s pivoted its strategy to align with the Bana Pele Shared Blueprint to Achieve Universal Access to Quality Early Learning (DBE,2025)
The organisation’s future focus:
Is on establishing Bana Pele Community Hubs that integrate an early childhood development centre for 3- to 5-year-olds, a learning and teaching support materials library, accredited and non-accredited training, and caregiver-baby/toddler (birth to 3-year-olds) empowerment through playgroups.
